Your Bio

I have been doing photography for many years and. Until 2006 I was totallly self taught and guided by a God given talent to see the world a little bit diffrently than other people. In 2006 I was accepted at Hallmark Institute of Photography to study all aspects of digital photography and portrait lighting techniques. One of my most important tips I share is to look for the beauty in every potential photo. If you capture the beauty as you see it then it's a keeper no matter who else likes it. It must satisfy your own senses to be worth while. Lighting and posing techniques can be taught but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Don't be surprized that some of your best work are reactions on the spur of the moment. Most of my award winning photos were not planned out ahead, but a reaction to a moment of beautiful natural light. Also don't forget to use a good tripod as often as possible.

In 2008 my wife and I have devoted our lives to missionary work in Juarez, Mexico. All profits from sales of my photography will go directly to help the children in the desert colonia of Juarez. We are currently building a shelter for 50 children, a school, a non denominational Christian chapel, and a free medical clinic. Our dream is to educate both achedemically and spiritually as many children as we are able to help raise their families out of poverty and disease. We can only put a dent in the problem but we will not rest while there is an opportunity to help even one child to find a way to exist in a better enviroment. Click onto the Juarez gallery to see how and where these children live on dirt floors without running water or electricity. They have no heat in the Winter when it can drop into freezing temperatures at night. ALL PROFITS WILL BE USED TO BETTER THE CONDITIONS IN THIS COLONIA AND THE MISSION WE ARE BUILDING. If it is within your heart to support our efforts directly email us through this site or mgalat@aol.com and we will let you know how it can be accomplished. Without support our efforts are slowed but will not cease.
